It is so nice not to have the pressure of the wedding to deal with anymore. Planning a wedding is not hard really, it's just the expectations of everyone else that makes you feel like your dream doesn't quite meet all the predisposed standards.
Thankfully I will never have to go through it again! Except for when we renew our vows, and that's just really another excuse to have a big party :)
So, to set the scene, my husband (Dan) and I are currently living with my parents waiting for our house to be built.... we have been waiting for almost 2 years now.... and we will be waiting for another year at least. Our struggles with our Draftsman and Council are not new for anyone that has ever built their own home, but it has become some-what of a running joke now...but we will leave that for another time.... it just makes me frustrated.
For our honeymoon we spent a week in the Blue Moluntains and it was just so nice to be just the 2 of us to begin our lives together. We had never been together, just the 2 of us, for such a long period of time before, and on the drive down I had small thought pass through my mind "what if we get bored with each others company?" It was a fleeting thought and completely ridiculous, cause we had a blast! It was everythig a honeymoon should be, private, romanic, relaxing and super enjoyable with just him and me. It's very unlikely that we will ever get that much time alone together ever again.
Coming back to reality after any holiday is always hard, but coming back home and having to share our space with my parents is just a little bit more diffucult, especially since we had a full week of privacy for.... "us time" (if you catch my drift).
Don't get me wrong, I am grateful to my parents for letting us live here, paying cheap rent and letting us save more money, it has been much apreciated, but it doesn't change the fact that I am 28, married and still living at home....
